Ft. Smith, Arkansas – April 2020 – Audio Acoustics, a business music supplier for over 50 years and an independent affiliate of Mood Media for over 50 years, announced the expansion of its Mood distribution and service area to include large parts of the state of Arkansas and Oklahoma. While this is a new office in Ft Smith for the Audio Acoustics team, the purchase of the Fitzhugh Mood franchise is more of a homecoming. 

 

According to company president Jon Baker, “The timing was right for both parties to enter into this new chapter. For us acquiring the western Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma Mood franchise feels like coming home.”

 

In 1962, Vernon Fitzhugh and Jack Skaggs, as partners, purchased the Springfield, Missouri Mood (formerly MUZAK) franchise and changed the company name to MO-ARK Sound. In 1968, Fitzhugh and Skaggs decided that Vernon would keep the MUZAK franchise in Arkansas and Jack would own the Missouri franchise, which then became Audio Acoustics, Inc.

 

This purchase takes Audio Acoustics from serving over 3,000 businesses with their Mood services to just under 5,000 businesses. In addition to where they are currently servicing, Audio Acoustics will now be in Benton, Crawford, Franklin, Howard, Johnson, Logan, Madison, Montgomery, Polk, Scott, Sebastian, Sevier and Washington counties in western Arkansas and Adair, Haskell, Latimer, LeFlore and Sequoyah counties in Oklahoma.
