Missouri State University Bill R. Foster and Family Recreation Center
Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School Concert Hall
Initially, this project began in April of 2011. After the May 2011 tornado outbreak devastated parts of Joplin, this project was set back by several months. Thankfully, Thomas Jefferson was not severely affected by the tornado. We were able to get the main system up and running for the beginning of the school year in August that same summer.
The main PA system is comprised of Electro-Voice EVA series line arrays. The left and right arrays consist of three EVA 2082/920 dual-element 90-degree by 20-degree full range modules and one EVA 2082/906 dual-element 90-degree by 6-degree full-range module per hang. The side arrays are powered by Electro-Voice Q1212 amplifiers. The center cluster is a pair of EVF-1122S96 12-inch two-way full-range loudspeakers, powered by a Electro-Voice Q99 amplifier. Use of full range speakers was important as it eliminated the need for subwoofers in the system and kept costs down. The excellent acoustics in the hall also helped. Very little EQing and tuning of the system was required since the room sounded so good. Balcony fills were JBL Control 25 speakers.
Mixing is handled by the Yamaha M7CL 48-channel digital console. 24-channels of Sennheiser wireless were implemented with directional antennas mounted just outside the sound booth under the balcony. Processing for the system is handled by the BBS London Soundweb BLU-160 processor and a pair of BLU-120 expander units. A full Aviom system was installed as well allowing for independent control of monitor mixes for up to 16 monitoring stations.
Springfield-Branson National Airport
Audio Acoustics, Inc. partnered with several local and regional contractors to complete the new Springfield-Branson National Airport, which opened in May 2009. The terminal paging system includes a state-of-the-art digital communications control system powered by Innovative Electronic Designs (IED). This system is used in nearly 80% of all North American airports, providing a means for airport staff to deliver pertinent information to passengers and guests. IED microphone stations installed at the individual airline ticket counters and other locations throughout the terminal provide employee access to generate overhead announcements. In addition to typical passenger information, the system also provides a safety net by duplicating as an emergency notification system throughout the facility and grounds. Music and announcements are delivered through Atlas coaxial speakers, installed to achieve maximum coverage both inside and outside the terminal.
Republic R-III School District
To meet the needs of an ever-increasing student body, the Republic R-III School District opened its new High School in August 2009. Audio Acoustics, Inc. was selected to provide the audio-visual systems in the new building and on the softball/baseball field.
In the RHS Auditorium, Electro-Voice full range 2-way loudspeakers and low frequency cabinets are powered by Crown Audio dual channel amplifiers to provide maximum quality sound coverage. Yamaha floor monitors provide additional sound to the stage area, and Electro-Voice wired and wireless microphones deliver clear voice and crisp vocals to the audience. The Yamaha Mixer and Biamp Audia Signal Processor provide system flexibility for quality sound delivery. Enhancing the A-V experience, the Draper motorized screen and Eiki 5000 lumens projector include computer inputs for a variety of video delivery options.
The RHS Main Gym and Auxiliary Gym boast Electro-Voice two-way loudspeakers, also powered by Crown Audio power amplifiers. Speaker placement allows for full coverage on the basketball court, bleachers and mezzanines. An audio feed is routed from the main gym to the auxiliary gym and cafeteria for overflow during special events. The main system equipment, including a Furman power conditioner and Shure digital signal process/feedback controller, are housed in a metal equipment rack. An additional sound system, including Yamaha powered mixer and two-way loudspeakers, and a Denon CD/MP3 player is located in the Cardio/Weight Room.
Bose full range loudspeakers, also powered by a Crown Audio amplifier, deliver sound to the RHS Cafeteria. One additional portable rack provides additional flexibility for special functions. The rack includes an 8-channel Biamp mixer, Electro-Voice headworn wireless, handheld wireless and wired microphones, and Denon a CD/MP3 Player.
Step out on to the baseball/softball field to enjoy music and play-by-play announcements when the RHS Tigers compete at home. This system features Electro-Voice two-way weatherproof loudspeakers powered by a Crown Audio dual channel power amplifier. The Denon CD/MP3 player delivers music to spectators. A portable, locking equipment rack, handheld announcer’s microphone, Shure 4-channel microphone mixer and FSR power sequencer and conditioner complete the system.
